How Thirtywell Started

Thirtywell began after one too many late-night searches turned up the same recycled listicles about men's health, most of them clearly written to sell a supplement rather than actually answer the question. The founder, a health journalist by background, wanted something that read like it was written by a person who'd checked the source, not a content farm chasing search traffic.

So the team is small by design: a handful of writers who sign their names to what they publish, and an editor who reads every draft against its sources before it goes anywhere near the homepage. We work directly from public health guidance and short interviews with registered nutritionists and GPs rather than paraphrasing other blogs.

There's no shop here and nothing to buy, which keeps the incentives simple. We're funded independently, we say so plainly on this page, and if a reader flags something wrong, we fix it and note the correction rather than quietly editing it away.

What Guides Our Writing

Independent Editorial Line

Nobody outside the editorial team decides what we cover or how we cover it.

Named Writers, Always

Every guide carries a real byline and a short note on who wrote it and why they're covering it.

Sources Cited Openly

We link or name the guidance behind every practical claim, right in the article.

Reader Questions Answered

Send us a question through the contact form and it might become next month's guide.

No Sponsored Rankings

We don't accept payment to feature or rank anything mentioned in our guides.

Regular Fact Updates

Older guides get revisited on a set schedule so out-of-date advice doesn't sit there unnoticed.

Plain Language

If a sentence needs a dictionary, we rewrite it. Health advice should be usable on a Tuesday morning, not just impressive on paper.

Named Sources

Every practical claim traces back to a named guideline, expert or study description. Readers can check our working, and we want them to.

Reader First

Topics come from actual reader questions more often than from what's trending. We'd rather answer something useful than something popular.

How We Keep Standards Up

Every guide passes through a second editor who checks the sourcing line by line before it goes live. We also revisit older guides on a set schedule to update anything that's since changed.

My job is to make sure every guide says what the source actually says, no more and no less. If I can't trace a claim back to something solid, it doesn't run.

We started this journal because most health writing aimed at men over thirty is either buried in jargon or quietly trying to sell you something. Every guide here is written to be read in one sitting and used the same day.
